Kicking off at this unique location every Sunday from 16.30h, the first of June’s weekly editions brings in the likes of Enzo Siragusa, Shaun Reeves, Savage & She, Javier Gonzales, Clara Da Costa, Real Gang Soundsystem and Alex Arnout. And then, slamming in mid-month on 16th June is a very special date for the Zoo Project crew as it celebrates its 12th anniversary, along with the official openings of the Seal Pit, The BUMP Rollerdisco, The Reggae Urban Arena, The Mandala Market, and The Zoo Project’s Boat Party, Noah’s Ark.

The Seal Pit: Celebrate life and the opening of the iconic Seal Pit stage on 16th June. To mark the occasion German duo Andhim make their debut alongside The Zoo Project´s longest serving resident Defex. Throughout the summer the famous amphitheater will play host to techno luminaries Ida Engberg, Monkia Kruse, Traumer, Dana Ruh and Mathias Kaden. Ghetto house godfather DJ Deeon makes a very welcome return and London heroes East End Dubs, together with Denney, Hosh and Bushwacka, will all take centre stage. All this and more, along with a killer selection of Zoo Project residents, the Seal Pit is back.

The BUMP Rollerdisco: If you’re looking for next-level fun, the BUMP Rollerdisco is the answer. You’ll get the unlimited BUMP Rollerdisco skating band, which includes skate hire, and knee pad protection for €10.

Reggae Urban Arena: The Reggae Urban Arena showcases the finest tunes, from reggae to trap, hip hop, funk, with soon-to-be-announced special guests. Eli Rojas, Jiménez, and the Macba G13 crew will be bringing Barcelona street culture to Ibiza.

The Mandala Market:

Including Zoo Project’s famous body art stand, where you can leave your party look in the hands of the professionals, and then take a wild picture at the photocall.

Noah’s Ark Boat Party: Enjoy the sun, the sea, the sand. While listening to wild beats brought to you by the party’s beloved residents and special guests, while you warm up for the Zoo! You’ll be setting sail towards the mystical Es Vedrà and Atlantis, two of the most magnetic and magical spots on earth. The performance artists will have punters entertained on board, while free drinks and free finger food will keep partygoers fresh and happy. After the boat, the disco bus will be headed straight to The Zoo Project at Benimussa Park, only 10 minutes away from San Antonio.

While much of planet earth’s population is diving in to help create a healthier planet, the forward-thinking team behind The Zoo Project weighs in on global efforts by offering affordable ticket pricing with contributions back to mother earth by planting one tree per each ticket sold from the 16th June until the end of the season. This unprecedented and outstanding commitment to OneTreePlanted.org is one of the latest actions of its sister company The Nature Project, a proactive art community that promotes and organizes beach clean-ups, marine, beehive programs and more in its pursuit of saving the world one planet at a time.

The Zoo Project’s free shuttle bus service
from Benimussa Park to the bus station in San Antonio is already running, starting at 23h and running continuously until the end of the night. Party wild and come back home safely for free.

The Zoo Project Ibiza comes back, calling a heard of fans of all cultures and species from all corners of the world.
See you all on the dancefloor!

The Zoo Project is a very special daytime open-air gathering taking place in the beautiful gardens of Benimussa Park at Gala Night, the old abandoned zoo in the forest hills of Benimussa, Ibiza.
Enjoy one of Ibiza’s biggest and longest running underground events with live music, interactive performances and immersive stages in over 5 arenas. With a unique setting in an abandoned zoo venue, under the sun and surrounded by pine-tree hills in the middle of nature, we will keep the good vibes flowing each and every Sunday, as the Zoo crew invites friends and family to come and celebrate life and music like nowhere else.
Every week offers a first-rate selection of revered guest artists and of course, a lovely helping of The Zoo Project‘s very own beloved artists.

The festival is a must-do for island regulars and international visitors thanks to it’s hedonistic vibes on the dance-floors, family ethos, swimming pool, market and food stalls, holistic centre, hidden corners, secret gardens, VIP area and much more.

The Zoo Project is a place where we are all equal – whoever you are & wherever you come from – we are all one, communicating and expressing ourselves through music. It’s a place where you can lose yourself and find yourself all over again in an instant, set to an unforgettable soundtrack.

COSMIC PINEAPPLE CLOSING PARTY 2019: Mysteries Of The Cosmos > STAR CHILD @ PIKES HOTEL

from 16.00 – 04.00 hrs

lineup: DJs: Jackmaster, Special Secret Guest, Heartthrob, Cici, Lele Sacchi, Garry Todd and more

Cosmic: Amazon wisdom and cultural preservation talk from the Huni Kuin Tribe, wisdom teaching and ceremony from Abuela Sylvia, sound journey from Elena Teixidor, Qi Gong, yoga…

The fifth Cosmic Pineapple event of 2019 will be the closing party Children of the stars – for we are all made of stardust – rise in your magic and step into the new.

For the 2019 Cosmic Pineapple closing event at Pikes, we bring ancient teachings into the modern way. In a world where we can get easily lost in electronic devices and alternate realities, Cosmic Pineapple is a reminder to bring it back… bring it back to our breath, to our body, to sound, to the energies running in and around us, to connection to our earth and the magical wisdom within.

After a powerful fourth season on the island, we close with our strongest event yet. Cosmic Pineapple is not just a party, but also a space to learn, share, evolve and raise funds and awareness for charitable causes. The Amazon is known as the lungs of our planet – supplying 20% of the earth’s oxygen. The burning fires destroying the Amazon have covered our news feeds the past weeks, we will not only be raising funds on the door to support Amazon Watch and also Amazon tribes – who hold the key to ancient wisdom of the jungle and the many medicines within – we will also hold teachings inside the event and we will open up the space for new ideas to emerge

Cosmic Pineapple runs from 4pm – 4am, the first half of the event is dedicated to teachings, creativity and fun. The night, dancing and a little of that after dark night time magic.
During the day at Cosmic Pineapple, alongside poolside music and food and drinks, a healing area, a children’s area, a cosmic bazaar of creative stalls from across the island, we have the teachings inside the Cosmic Activation Dome, including womb wisdom, tantra and a Mayan cacao ceremony. Elsewhere, Gong Master will give a gong meditation on the highest point of Pikes to enter the midnight hour, there will be ecstatic dance, light meditation therapy and more. And inside the Space Rave, from 10pm, Cosmic Pineapple resident DJ priestess, Cici, will guide you through the dance, alongside DJs announced on the day! There are also teachings to be found in every person you meet, so please be open to share and learn!

The intent is strong again on this event and the day time teachings will be based around ancient secrets, whilst the music of the night will bring the wisdom of the past into the future.

This year, for the charity and education element (when you enter the event you give a charity donation), we are working with The Ibiza Preservation Foundation and Ibiza Fenix to educate and inspire people at the events to create the changes needed inside and out.
In the news that climate change is escalating if we don’t act NOW and that we are driving 1 million species to extinction – NOW is the time to act. Change starts inside and within our local communities.

ipfIbiza generates double the amount of waste per person than the rest of Europe. Much of this is plastic.
As more plastic ends up in the sea and on our beaches, it’s harming our marine environment and endangered species.
Research work has found major concentrations of plastics in Ibiza’s waters.
Renewable energy in Ibiza is practically non-existent, representing 0.25% of energy production.
Putting Ibiza and Formentera onto a path to a more sustainable future is the vision of the Ibiza Preservation Foundation (IPF), so we’re happy to be taking part in the Cosmic Pineapple festivals this summer at Pikes, which is placing sustainability at the centre of its creative teachings and activities. We believe by preserving the islands’ natural beauty and resources we contribute to local well-being and prosperity.
This also aligns with the festivals’ focus on how we can take better care of ourselves and our planet.
Cosmic Pineapple will help us raise much-needed funds for our projects, in particular the Plastic Free Ibiza and Formentera movement that we’re delivering together with 18 other local NGOs.” – Ibiza Preservation Foundation

ibizafenixThe work of NGO Ibiza Fenix has many different elements. “This year, we’ll be doing several projects in the Ibiza Fènix movement, including cleaning up the island, helping to get rid of single use plastic and promote the consumption of local products in the tourism industry.
We are also running school education projects about the use of plastic in our daily lives, plus planning a more responsible tourist offer for the years ahead.” – Ibiza Fenix

Pikes, the iconic venue which houses the Cosmic Pineapple mini festivals, are also in support, with no plastic straws available and are cutting down on single use plastics. They are also working with the KM Zero Project, purifying the natural well water source for all hotel guests.
By these moves Pikes are eliminating over 11,000 plastic bottles per year. Pikes are also working with a local farmer to provide farm fresh local and seasonal produce for their restaurant food menu.

Cosmic Pineapple returns for their 12-hour high-vibes mini festival of magic and music at Pikes Ibiza delivering a melting pot of cosmics and creatives coming together to share and inspire.
Over six special summer dates, from 4pm – 4am, enter the rainbow and explore the cosmic and creative realms…

Following upcoming summer dates:
July 2 – Earth Magik
July 16 – Dreamland
August 13 – Get Your Freak On
September 24 – Star Child

FIRA DE LA SAL 2019 @ Ses Salinas, Sant Josep
Oct 26 @ 9:00 am

Sant Josep de Sa TalaiaFIRA DE LA SAL 2019 @ SES SALINAS, SANT JOSEP

details to be announced

The Salt Festival is celebrated in October and represents a new tourist and cultural event destined to promote local heritage and culture.

Organised jointly by the Town Council of Sant Josep, Eivissa Council and the Nature Reserve Ses Salines d’Eivissa i Formentera, the Feria de la Sal aims to pay tribute and to remember the people who worked in the salt-pans and to use a variety of activities throughout the day to promote awareness of the traditions which surround the manual extraction of salt.

The initiative is intended to reduce the seasonal nature of the tourism industry while introducing an additional attraction for both residents and visitors linking tradition and culture to tourism, with activities which are related with tradition and custom to produce greater diversification which will simultaneously allow people to approach the Nature Reserve from a different point of view.

HISTORY

Salt played an important role in the classical world as a preservative for foodstuffs and gave rise to the creation of the salt-pans by the Phoenician settlers who were major producers of salted fish, an activity which continues today. Salt has been the principal source of wealth for Ibiza, the income from which was the basis for the economy and permitted the existence of the university and the government administration, financing the building of the walls and towers for defence of the whole island.

FIESTA DE SANT CIRIAC – Saint’s Day Celebrations & Fireworks of Dalt Villa @ Ibiza Dalt Vila Patrimonio de la Humanidad
Aug 8 @ 10:30 am

DALT VILAFIESTA DE SANT CIRIAC – Saint’s Day Celebrations & Fireworks @ Ibiza Dalt Vila Patrimonio de la Humanidad

Full program to be announced.

18.30 hrs – Berenada Popular as Puig des Molins coinciding with the traditional snack of Sant Ciriac
20.00 hrs – Giant Paella
24.00 hrs – Great firework display from the wall of the Port Vell in Ibiza

During the first week of August, the town of Eivissa, dresses up, decorated with flags, parades and fireworks. For days people celebrate, honor and sing. Religion and traditions are mixed into several activities that form this great event. Eivissa celebrates the “Festes de la Terra“, the “fiestas of our land”, which revolve around the island of Ibiza and its history.

August 5 is the day of the patron saint of Eivissa, Santa María de la Neus, the virgin of the snows. Dalt Vila Cathedral is named after her.
It is about the celebration of the patron saint of the capital of the island, the great festival of Eivissa.
Three days later, San Ciriaco is honored and the Catalan conquest remembered, which was on this day in 1235.
Colorful parades fill the streets. There are shows, folklore and concerts in many places, competitions and exhibitions … and a lot to see.
The city also shows its respect for the significant background of the Fiestas. Many traditional religious acts take place. The day of the Catalan conquest is very important for the religious Ibizan since this is how Christianity and the Western world joined Ibiza and Formentera.
Before that the Moors reigned in the Pitiusas, and with them Islam.

August 8 symbolizes the beginning of a new era for Ibiza. It is one of the most popular holidays and begins in the morning with a ceremony in the cathedral in honor of San Ciriaco. Then a procession follows through the streets of all parish flags. It is a procession of historical importance, as the flag of San Lorenzo has been crossed for 200 years, being the oldest banner of the island.
The procession ends in the Plaza de España with a floral offering and a peasant dance next to the monument to Guillerm de Montgri.

In the evening the traditional “berenada or  picnic” takes place on the hill of Puig des Molins, which the Ibizan traditionally celebrate with cakes and other homemade food.

At the end of the day, huge fireworks light up the sky over Dalt Vila. The historical enclave shines for a few moments with an incomparable light.

Fiesta de Sant Ciriac, is an annual event that commemorates the Catalans regaining control of the island on the Moors.
Every year, local people and visitors come together to the Fiesta de Sant Ciriac, where fireworks, dancing, drinking, eating, music and joy can be enjoyed, as well as the famous watermelon fight.

The celebrations mark an event that took place on 8 August 1235.
In the 13th century, two Muslim brothers ruled over Ibiza.
The story goes that one of the brothers was stronger and more powerful than the other and his favorite wife stole from him.

To take revenge on his deceitful brother, the other showed an attacking army of Christians the secret entrance into the inner walls of Dalt Vila, after which a battle took place on 8 August 1235, in which the Moors were defeated and the Catalans regained control over the island.

Sant Ciriac
has been the patron saint of Ibiza since 1650.

Nowadays you can visit the place where the Christians entered Ibiza Town and follow the picturesque cobbled streets to the Chapel of Sant Ciriac,  in an alley of the same name, and built  in 1754.
The small chapel was built in honor of San Ciriaco or Sant Ciriac, patron saint of the Ibiza Town since 1650,  who fell in 1235 during the battle of Ibiza town. The chapel is a small room with a fence.
The chapel houses a statue of Sant Ciriac and inside, under the altar, one sees san arch, the beginning of the possible tunnel that a legend identifies as the entrance of the Christian conquerors guided by the hated brother of the Muslim sheikh. The tunneled entrance to the Sant Ciriac chapel is designed to mimic the arrival of the Christian army.

Nowadays coins are thrown through the arch for good fate.

FIESTA DE SANT CIRIAC – Saint’s Day Celebrations & Fireworks of Dalt Villa @ Ibiza Dalt Vila Patrimonio de la Humanidad
