GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE > It was just the beginning @ global

extinctionrebellion GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE > It was just the beginning @ WORLDWIDE

All day event

More than 2 million young people in 2083 cities of 125 countries across world on march 15th, 1,6 million on may 24th, 7,6 million people for the #WeekForFuture from september 20th to 27th with 6135 actions in 185 countries !

It was just the beginning. Get ready for the next global strike for climate on November 29th

Everyone is welcome.
Everyone is needed!

All events of Extinction Rebellion are non-violent. Extinction Rebellion (abbreviated as XR) is a socio-political movement which uses nonviolent resistance to protest against climate breakdown, biodiversity loss, and the risk of human extinction and ecological collapse.

The countdown does not stop, the time just ends. Attention Ibiza: Rebellion or Extinction!

Global emergency: while in the global scientific community there is already consensus on a massive and accelerated extinction of species and an imminent collapse of the global ecosystem of the planet. This is a direct consequence of the irresponsible human actions. It is the youth of the world who initiate the movement of Rebellion against Extinction.

In Ibiza we have been aware active in the protection of sea and land, working to preserve the biodiversity that enriches our natural heritage and looking for a more sustainable model that allows the next generations to enjoy what we have been given. The problem is that the general reaction is slow, too slow, while the situation is one of extreme urgency and seriousness. This is why a new mass social reaction, local as well as global, is required to firmly demand governments, in all its administrations, a change of radical and immediate political action.

The Rebellion against Extinction is also activated in Ibiza. We will be waiting for you at Vara de Rey at 6pm through a street gathering.
We must, here too, unite our voices and raise our hands in a non-violent way to defend our future, that of our children, that of all living beings.

XR IBIZA PRESS RELEASE May 14th, 2019:

XR Ibiza is comprised of people on the island who have decided to join the international non-violent rebellion against the ongoing species extinction and ecological and existential crisis. The Extinction Rebellion movement UK was born thanks to the ímpetus of scientists in the UK and has spread around the world into a coordinated international network. We are made up of self- organised XR groups within national territories which are coordinated on a state level and then with other countries via XR International.
Our message is clear: ALARM! We are facing a climate and ecological crisis, massive species extinction is already happening, and human extinction is a real risk. We have very little time left to act. The passive negligence of our governments makes them complicit, it is thus our right and our duty to follow our consciences and rebel by peaceful civil disobedience.

Our demands

The Government must tell the truth about the climate and ecological emergency. It must reverse those policies which do not align with this stance and, working alongside the media, strive to communicate with the people
The Government must enact binding and mandatory policies to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2025, to halt biodiversity loss and at the same time reduce levels of consumption.
A Citizens’ Assembly must be created to supervise the change, this being the democracy most suitable for achieving the objectives.
Regarding the first demand, and following the example of the UK parliament among others, we urge Ibiza’s 5 town halls, the Consell, the Govern Balear and the Spanish state to declare with no further ado, a CLIMATE EMERGENCY, this is fundamental to enable the truth to be told and for society to gain more awareness and thus act accordingly
For our part, we the people of Ibiza who oppose the misuse of our Earth and the threat to Humanity, are uniting our voices to deliver this Declaration of Rebellion against Extinction. This declaration is supported by the international movement Extinction Rebellion as well as the international declaration of rebellion presented in Madrid on April 8th by Extinction Rebellion España.

For the launch of XR Ibiza and for this our first act we enjoy the collaboration and support of local artists, scientists and activists. Moreover, we already have the official adhesion of renowned groups such as Eivissa Diu No, Antipetrolífera, SOS Yoga Ibiza, Ibiza Conciencia, Cocreate Earth, Circular Thinking, Amics de la Terra, Gen-Gob, ProArtSo, Conciencia Plástica, Guardianes de la Posidonia, Juventud Ibicenca (Fridays For Future), Casita Verde, Ecoradio Ibiza, Alianza por el Agua en Ibiza y Formentera, Associació de Voluntaris d’Eivissa, CGT Ibiza y Formentera, Cooperativa Integral de Eivissa, Masterminds Earth, Ibiza Fènix, Ibiza Climate Save, Anonymous for the Voiceless Ibiza and Love From Ibiza.

We must react together as a society and understand that Ibiza is already being seriously affected by the irresponsible act of our civilization with its self- destructive tendencies. The role played by the media is key which is why we expect on you to attend on Wednesday and we count on your publishing and/or broadcasting from now on

Many thanks and best regards from the team of XR Ibiza

FESTES PATRONALS de SANTA EULARIA DES RIU 2020 @ Santa Eularia
Mar 23 @ 3:00 pm

Santa Eularia des RiuFESTES PATRONALS de SANTA EULARIA DES RIU 2020 @ SANTA EULARIA DES RIU

from 10.00 hrs

The programming of the festivities of Santa Eulalia will last until March, unfolding a series of events designed to preserve our traditions but, above all, so that all members of the family can enjoy. So, there are many activities for children and young people, but also the elderly have a big role in this holiday. The concerts of the Rock’n’Bars, the Formula V performance and the subsequent flower power or the Project Mut concert share the main role in the program with the II Gerret Fair, the Rua de Carnaval, the Craft Fair, the conferences of ‘the Adventure of Educating in Family’ or the premieres of two documentaries shot on the island in collaboration with the City Council.

One of the first acts of the program, precisely, will be the screening of one of these documentaries. This is the production ‘Es Culleram- The Sanctuary of the Sea’, a documentary by the Iboshim Association that focuses on demonstrating the uses and importance of this enclave in the Teatro España both in its Spanish version as in German.

The weekend will be the setting for one of the great main courses, the Rock’n’Bars, in which Ibizan groups such as The Frigolos, Uncle Sal, Morning Drivers, Lemon Emigrants, Moonshine Band, La Locanda and Six Hairy Riders will take the Streets to offer good music while you can enjoy tapas and canes at popular prices thanks to the participation of much of the bars and restaurants in the town. This will be Sunday 7 between 13:30 and 19:00 hours.

As always, the festivities are mixed with the Carnival in Santa Eulària. If on Saturday the 6th Punt Jove hosts an APIMA carnival party at the Quartó del Rei institute, on Tuesday it will be the festival with a parade where hundreds of people will give color and fun in the most irreverent celebration of the year.

The next day, the 10th, the second premiere in the municipality of an Ibizan documentary supported by the Consistory will be played. In this case, the Teatro España will host the screening of the work of José Luis Mir ‘Pitiusas 1936-1939‘ on the Civil War in the islands.

 Children’s activities:
The eve of the big day, Thursday 11, will take place the first of the children’s shows. From 17:00 in the Municipal Library, and with the collaboration of the program Teatre als Pobles de Sa Xerxa de Teatre Infantil y Juvenil de las Illes y Obra Social “la Caixa”, Chip Xap Teatro will offer the montage ‘ The Bremen musicians. ‘

The Day of Santa Eulalia, the mass in the Puig de Misa, the procession and the dances of Es Broll in the church square and in the Plaza de España will be the central events but there will also be an ornithological exhibition in es Refugi, some Olympiads. Youth in the afternoon organized by Punt Jove and children’s entertainment ‘Uh! What a crab! ‘ of Xip Xap Theater in front of the Town Hall. A concert of the Escolanía de Lluc the Puig de Missa, pasacalles of the Agrupación Musical sa Colla des Riu and the Musical Grouping Nuestra Señora de la Estrella will be the preamble to the great concert of Project Mut in the Plaza de España to which Bluesmafia will follow and is Saligardos.

On Saturday the 13th, in addition to the workshops for children, there will again be a children’s theater, also with Xip Xap Teatro, who will offer this time ‘A new new costume’ at the Teatro España. And at night, the big party date: a great party for lovers of retro sounds with Formula V in the Plaza de España and later Flower Power at the Punto Joven. The next day, the children’s workshops will return and, in the afternoon, Universal Love, a series of games, workshops and snacks in the Exhibition Room.

On Friday the 19th will return ‘The Adventure of Family Education‘, in this case with Alejandra Vallejo-Nágera, and the exhibition ‘Empowerment Retrasts‘ will open. The lives of women in the Gaza Strip ‘, an exhibition in collaboration with UNRWA, the Government and the UIB and which will also be part of the events for Women’s Day.

The weekend of February 20 and 21 will have as a big date a new edition of the Craft Fair of Puig de Missa but also will host the photographic gincana Santa Eulària ens Mola, the Concert of the Fiestas of the Municipal Band or the II Great Prix of Mobylettes, among other activities.

The following weekend, the children’s theater will be the main protagonist with ‘La faldicaja‘ by Maricuela and ‘Hannah from the three countries‘, while seven days later the II Gerret Fair will arrive at Sant Jaume Street, an appointment that hopes to increase the success of its first edition.
