A typical Ibiza dessert, which is taken every day for Christmas.
Catalina is an experienced fruit and vegetable seller who has been in charge of Verduras Costa since the beginning of the Forada Market with her son.
The “Christmas Sauce” has some similarity to the nougat but in a liquid form.
In Ibiza it is essential for the Christmas celebration, and it is prepared in sufficient quantity for all the holidays. This is a very old dessert, whose origin is lost in time, although it is believed to be Arabic. In Ibiza each family prepares the “sauce” according to its own recipe, which is different from one house to another, there are those who add honey, pepper, cloves, etc.
This time it will be vegetarian according to our market.

We provide long tables on the beach where you can leave your dish: A nice potato salad, tortillas, a cheese platter, quiche or sausage rolls, cakes or sandwiches, all is appreciated !

We kindly ask you to NOT BRING ANY PLASTIC plates, cups or cutlery to the beach!

This year we team up with PROYECTO JUNTOS. Proyecto Juntos seeks to raise awareness and focus on children affected by medium and long-term illnesses and contribute their grain of sand to improve the quality of life of the paediatric patient and their families.
They will have a designated part of the beach for the children of so they can enjoy a fun start of the year too. They will have a stand with drinks for the little ones and where you can give them a DONATION for their fantastic work, if you like of course.

Hoy es Australia, pero mañana podemos ser nosotros si no se actua urgentemente ante esta grave emergencia climática que nos afecta a TODOS.
Australia is burning, caused by the climate crisis.
The politicians in Australia seem more interested in their overseas holidays and the progress of the Aussie cricket team. Many people in Europe are blissfully unaware of the scale of the problem, and that this could happen in Spain, in the very near future.
XR Ibiza are gathering to inform people of the situation and to demand that the government of Australia & other countries start paying attention.
Global emergency: while in the global scientific community there is already consensus on a massive and accelerated extinction of species and an imminent collapse of the global ecosystem of the planet. This is a direct consequence of the irresponsible human actions. It is the youth of the world who initiate the movement of Rebellion against Extinction.
In Ibiza we have been aware active in the protection of sea and land, working to preserve the biodiversity that enriches our natural heritage and looking for a more sustainable model that allows the next generations to enjoy what we have been given. The problem is that the general reaction is slow, too slow, while the situation is one of extreme urgency and seriousness. This is why a new mass social reaction, local as well as global, is required to firmly demand governments, in all its administrations, a change of radical and immediate political action.
The Rebellion against Extinction is also activated in Ibiza. This May 15 we will be waiting for you at Vara de Rey at 7pm to present XR Ibiza to the local society through a street gathering and impressive performance.
We must, here too, unite our voices and raise our hands in a non-violent way to defend our future, that of our children, that of all living beings.

PRESS RELEASE May 14th, 2019:
XR Ibiza is comprised of people on the island who have decided to join the international non-violent rebellion against the ongoing species extinction and ecological and existential crisis. The Extinction Rebellion movement UK was born thanks to the ímpetus of scientists in the UK and has spread around the world into a coordinated international network. We are made up of self- organised XR groups within national territories which are coordinated on a state level and then with other countries via XR International.
Our message is clear: ALARM! We are facing a climate and ecological crisis, massive species extinction is already happening, and human extinction is a real risk. We have very little time left to act. The passive negligence of our governments makes them complicit, it is thus our right and our duty to follow our consciences and rebel by peaceful civil disobedience.
Our demands
The Government must tell the truth about the climate and ecological emergency. It must reverse those policies which do not align with this stance and, working alongside the media, strive to communicate with the people
The Government must enact binding and mandatory policies to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2025, to halt biodiversity loss and at the same time reduce levels of consumption.
A Citizens’ Assembly must be created to supervise the change, this being the democracy most suitable for achieving the objectives.
Regarding the first demand, and following the example of the UK parliament among others, we urge Ibiza’s 5 town halls, the Consell, the Govern Balear and the Spanish state to declare with no further ado, a CLIMATE EMERGENCY, this is fundamental to enable the truth to be told and for society to gain more awareness and thus act accordingly
For our part, we the people of Ibiza who oppose the misuse of our Earth and the threat to Humanity, are uniting our voices to deliver this Declaration of Rebellion against Extinction. This declaration is supported by the international movement Extinction Rebellion as well as the international declaration of rebellion presented in Madrid on April 8th by Extinction Rebellion España.
For the launch of XR Ibiza and for this our first act we enjoy the collaboration and support of local artists, scientists and activists. Forest bathing San Lorenzo @ Ibiza

Forest Bathing, or ‘taking in the forest atmosphere’, originated in Japan where it is known as Shinrin (forest) Yoku (bathing).
Through simple exercises to open your senses of sight, smell, sound, touch and taste you will be guided into a state of mindful presence.
We will then walk gently through the forest, with one or two exercises to help us appreciate what we find. This is not an energetic hike in the woods – it is more a meditation where you will experience a profound connection with nature and the forest. You won’t walk far but you will appreciate the forest in a deeper and more meaningful way than ever before.
The experience ends with a shared tea ceremony using foraged plants.
The session lasts around 2 1/2 to 3 hours and costs €25

Workshop for the production of Hierbas Ibicencas “Payesas” by Joan Tur
The workshop will begin with a pleasant walk through our garden along which the 18 plants that will be used for the elaboration of the precious liquor are collected and remember, at the end of the workshop you take your bottle of Hierbas home.
Before starting the visit to the garden, a pair of gloves and secateurs are distributed to each participator.
During the process of making herbs, which is done manually, Joan explains the properties and “secrets” of each of the plants collected.
The last step is to add our special anise. The bottles are sealed and, after three months, they are ready to be tasted.
Take your bottle of herbs home with your recipe and your diploma.

IBIZA PLOGGING 2020 @ Playa de ses Salines

This Ibiza activity, initiated by the Plogging movement is launched in Ibiza and Spain for the simultaneous promotion of sport and ecology.
Objective: Waste collection for recycling Join!
Sustainable, IBIZA PLOGGING, an initiative that promotes sports and ecology on the island and in the Balearics. The plogging is a social movement that has its origin in 2016/17 in Stockholm, and currently more than 25,000 people in 100 countries practice it in the world.
The term “Plogging” comes from the words “jogging” (jogging, running) and “plocka upp”, which in Swedish means collecting. Plogging is one of the participatory movements that has best combined all forms of exercise. For this trend it is not necessary to run, since walking can be done. The fact of bending over when the waste is collected also produces additional physical wear.
This practice can be done in any place: the route or the walk of each morning, during the sunset or even at night are opportunities of Plogging. It can be done by bicycle, paddle board, surf at sea, alone, as a team, as a family …
Even walking down the street on the way to work. The purpose is the same: the collection of waste for subsequent recycling.
Perhaps the most significant of this fashion or personal attitude is the possibility of preserving our environment day by day. The objective is to raise awareness of the need not to throw waste in any place and if in turn a physical activity is practiced the person gets a double benefit. The social work that this sport represents goes beyond collaborating in the collection of waste and favoring the correct recycling, since it also helps to sensitize residents and visitors of the importance of always carrying a simple bag in which to deposit the waste.
To bring Plogging closer to Spain, its promoters have chosen Ibiza. During the 23rd and 24th of February they will carry out an informative task complemented with inclusive street marketing actions in the different municipalities of the island, which will help to inform and add prescribers to this practice.
From Ibiza Sostenible, an Instagram campaign has been created: the “Ibiza Plogging” movement, where users can upload and share their photos and moments practicing Plogging on the island.

The workshop will begin with a pleasant walk through our garden along which the 18 plants that will be used for the elaboration of the precious liquor are collected and remember, at the end of the workshop you take your bottle of Hierbas home.
Before starting the visit to the garden, a pair of gloves and secateurs are distributed to each participator.
During the process of making herbs, which is done manually, Joan explains the properties and “secrets” of each of the plants collected.
The last step is to add our special anise. The bottles are sealed and, after three months, they are ready to be tasted.
Take your bottle of herbs home with your recipe and your diploma.

Fermentation has been used in every culture through history as a way of preserving and transforming food. Through the yeasts naturally present on food and in the air we can transform food, increasing the nutritional value, changing flavour and producing healthy probiotic bacteria to help our digestion
In this workshop we will learn how to ferment vegetables to make sauerkraut, kimchi, salsas and other dishes. We’ll also discover fermented drinks such as water kefir and milk kefir.
There will be plenty of time to discuss other fermented drinks, sourdough baking and other fermenting delights!
At the end of the day you will have your own jars of fermenting vegetables to take home.

La Charla del movimiento Extinction Rebellion, un espacio para la reflexión y la información con base científica, y para compartir nuestras inquietudes sobre la crisis climática, ecológica y de la civilización humana.
Nos enfrentamos a una emergencia global sin precedentes: la evidencia científica confirma que estamos en una crisis climática y ecológica, y acercándonos a un colapso social. La cobertura mediática sobre esto es escasa, excepto en torno a las eventuales cumbres por el clima. Cumbres que se suceden una tras otra sin que tengamos garantía alguna de no superar los 1.5ºC respecto a los niveles preindustriales que el Grupo Intergubernamental de Expertos sobre el Cambio Climático (IPCC) advirtió que no debíamos superar. Ante esto, la sociedad civil está despertando y movilizándose para exigir medidas políticas drásticas que reduzcan las emisiones de dióxido de carbono y aseguren la justicia climática.
Global emergency: while in the global scientific community there is already consensus on a massive and accelerated extinction of species and an imminent collapse of the global ecosystem of the planet. This is a direct consequence of the irresponsible human actions. It is the youth of the world who initiate the movement of Rebellion against Extinction.
In Ibiza we have been aware active in the protection of sea and land, working to preserve the biodiversity that enriches our natural heritage and looking for a more sustainable model that allows the next generations to enjoy what we have been given. The problem is that the general reaction is slow, too slow, while the situation is one of extreme urgency and seriousness. This is why a new mass social reaction, local as well as global, is required to firmly demand governments, in all its administrations, a change of radical and immediate political action.
The Rebellion against Extinction is also activated in Ibiza. This May 15 we will be waiting for you at Vara de Rey at 7pm to present XR Ibiza to the local society through a street gathering and impressive performance.
We must, here too, unite our voices and raise our hands in a non-violent way to defend our future, that of our children, that of all living beings.

XR Ibiza is comprised of people on the island who have decided to join the international non-violent rebellion against the ongoing species extinction and ecological and existential crisis. The Extinction Rebellion movement UK was born thanks to the ímpetus of scientists in the UK and has spread around the world into a coordinated international network. We are made up of self- organised XR groups within national territories which are coordinated on a state level and then with other countries via XR International.
Our message is clear: ALARM! We are facing a climate and ecological crisis, massive species extinction is already happening, and human extinction is a real risk. We have very little time left to act. The passive negligence of our governments makes them complicit, it is thus our right and our duty to follow our consciences and rebel by peaceful civil disobedience.
Our demands
The Government must tell the truth about the climate and ecological emergency. It must reverse those policies which do not align with this stance and, working alongside the media, strive to communicate with the people
The Government must enact binding and mandatory policies to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2025, to halt biodiversity loss and at the same time reduce levels of consumption.
A Citizens’ Assembly must be created to supervise the change, this being the democracy most suitable for achieving the objectives.
Regarding the first demand, and following the example of the UK parliament among others, we urge Ibiza’s 5 town halls, the Consell, the Govern Balear and the Spanish state to declare with no further ado, a CLIMATE EMERGENCY, this is fundamental to enable the truth to be told and for society to gain more awareness and thus act accordingly
For our part, we the people of Ibiza who oppose the misuse of our Earth and the threat to Humanity, are uniting our voices to deliver this Declaration of Rebellion against Extinction. This declaration is supported by the international movement Extinction Rebellion as well as the international declaration of rebellion presented in Madrid on April 8th by Extinction Rebellion España.
For the launch of XR Ibiza and for this our first act we enjoy the collaboration and support of local artists, scientists and activists. The workshop will begin with a pleasant walk through our garden along which the 18 plants that will be used for the elaboration of the precious liquor are collected and remember, at the end of the workshop you take your bottle of Hierbas home.
Before starting the visit to the garden, a pair of gloves and secateurs are distributed to each participator.
During the process of making herbs, which is done manually, Joan explains the properties and “secrets” of each of the plants collected.
The last step is to add our special anise. The bottles are sealed and, after three months, they are ready to be tasted.
Take your bottle of herbs home with your recipe and your diploma.

Global emergency: while in the global scientific community there is already consensus on a massive and accelerated extinction of species and an imminent collapse of the global ecosystem of the planet. This is a direct consequence of the irresponsible human actions. It is the youth of the world who initiate the movement of Rebellion against Extinction.
In Ibiza we have been aware active in the protection of sea and land, working to preserve the biodiversity that enriches our natural heritage and looking for a more sustainable model that allows the next generations to enjoy what we have been given. The problem is that the general reaction is slow, too slow, while the situation is one of extreme urgency and seriousness. This is why a new mass social reaction, local as well as global, is required to firmly demand governments, in all its administrations, a change of radical and immediate political action.
The Rebellion against Extinction is also activated in Ibiza. This May 15 we will be waiting for you at Vara de Rey at 7pm to present XR Ibiza to the local society through a street gathering and impressive performance.
We must, here too, unite our voices and raise our hands in a non-violent way to defend our future, that of our children, that of all living beings.

XR Ibiza is comprised of people on the island who have decided to join the international non-violent rebellion against the ongoing species extinction and ecological and existential crisis. The Extinction Rebellion movement UK was born thanks to the ímpetus of scientists in the UK and has spread around the world into a coordinated international network. We are made up of self- organised XR groups within national territories which are coordinated on a state level and then with other countries via XR International.
Our message is clear: ALARM! We are facing a climate and ecological crisis, massive species extinction is already happening, and human extinction is a real risk. We have very little time left to act. The passive negligence of our governments makes them complicit, it is thus our right and our duty to follow our consciences and rebel by peaceful civil disobedience.
Our demands
The Government must tell the truth about the climate and ecological emergency. It must reverse those policies which do not align with this stance and, working alongside the media, strive to communicate with the people
The Government must enact binding and mandatory policies to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2025, to halt biodiversity loss and at the same time reduce levels of consumption.
A Citizens’ Assembly must be created to supervise the change, this being the democracy most suitable for achieving the objectives.
Regarding the first demand, and following the example of the UK parliament among others, we urge Ibiza’s 5 town halls, the Consell, the Govern Balear and the Spanish state to declare with no further ado, a CLIMATE EMERGENCY, this is fundamental to enable the truth to be told and for society to gain more awareness and thus act accordingly
For our part, we the people of Ibiza who oppose the misuse of our Earth and the threat to Humanity, are uniting our voices to deliver this Declaration of Rebellion against Extinction. This declaration is supported by the international movement Extinction Rebellion as well as the international declaration of rebellion presented in Madrid on April 8th by Extinction Rebellion España.
For the launch of XR Ibiza and for this our first act we enjoy the collaboration and support of local artists, scientists and activists. Introducing the news and projects in the environment carried out by the institutions and companies in Ibiza and Formentera, analyzing several success cases and reviewing the environmental achievements produced in the last year are some of the issues that will focus on the Third Day Roads to sustainability in Ibiza and Formentera.
Among the speakers who will attend this initiative will be Aitor Urresti, General Director of Energy and Climate Change of the Government of the Balearic Islands, who will cover the main aspects of the Law on Climate Change and Energy Transition, approved in February last year.
For his part, the intervention of the representative of the Consell de Ibiza will be based on the environmental developments that will entail the start-up of the waste triage plant being built at the Ca na Putxa landfill.
The Consell de Formentera, aware of the importance of conserving the natural characteristics of the island, last year promoted a regulation of the circulation of vehicles from July 1 to August 31. The results of both this project and the other related to the environment in which this institution is working will be some of the points that will be known in the day

Forest bathing San Lorenzo @ Ibiza

Forest Bathing, or ‘taking in the forest atmosphere’, originated in Japan where it is known as Shinrin (forest) Yoku (bathing).
Through simple exercises to open your senses of sight, smell, sound, touch and taste you will be guided into a state of mindful presence.
We will then walk gently through the forest, with one or two exercises to help us appreciate what we find. This is not an energetic hike in the woods – it is more a meditation where you will experience a profound connection with nature and the forest. You won’t walk far but you will appreciate the forest in a deeper and more meaningful way than ever before.
The experience ends with a shared tea ceremony using foraged plants.
The session lasts around 2 1/2 to 3 hours and costs € 25

You’re invited to the cleaning that will take place on the beach of Es Cavallet, an idyllic environment inside the Natural Park of Ses Salines.
This time we have a pleasant surprise for you all, thanks to the collaboration of One Planet One Life, an organization born in our island with the aim of promoting environmental awareness. In addition, the scientists who carry out the Belharra Project and the wonderful volunteers of the Association of Volunteers of Ibiza will be present.
All the plastic waste collected during the day will be used for a recycling process that will be carried out by the Orca Sound Project and Ibiza Limpia, thus giving rise to the wonderful stage of the Ibiza Summit Festival 2020. Undoubtedly, we are glad to continue making use of all available resources, even those that are considered “garbage” or non-recyclable waste, to prevent them from being cremated or ending up in a landfill. Therefore, we make use of creativity and knowledge, in order to find alternatives to the destination of waste that are already part of our coast.
But that’s not all! During the end of the activity there will be another surprise for all those who have collaborated in this initiative.
