ART EXHIBITION: TALKING TREES by Mary-Lynne Stadler @ AUBERGINE IBIZA Restaurant
Sep 8 @ 12:00 pm

aubergine-sep1
AUBERGINE IBIZA RestaurantART EXHIBITION: TALKING TREES by Mary-Lynne Stadler @ AUBERGINE IBIZA Restaurant

from  12.00 – 24.00 hrs

An exhibition of paintings, drawings and mixed media works by Mary-Lynne Stadler, with contributions from people from all around the world.

It all began when she met a tree, a very ancient olive tree, on the terraces in the campo behind San Carlos.

The first thing that immediately struck her that day of the first meeting was that she had a heart – a heart that was clearly defined and embraced by her old bent and broken branches.

She has lived through hundreds of years of winds and floods and droughts. She has weathered storms and diseases, as well as interventions by insects, and humans and animals. Every one of those experiences has been scored, more or less deeply, in every fibre, every creeping root and every one of her broken branches, and each one has left its individual mark. And yet, despite the ravages of centuries that have scarred her, she still has a warm and embracing heart that continues to beat with life, and sends fresh new growth to reach the sky.

Mary knew she had to make work about her, and started sketching, there in front of her, in the biting winter wind. There are so many facets to this tree, so much history locked in her, that no single image will tell her story well enough. She has drawn her in pencil and charcoal, ink and gouache and more. At times I have sketched her quickly and roughly, other times the work has been done more painstakingly and in more detail.

In the end, though, she hoped that the range of work mirrors something of the complex nature of the way a single, ancient tree grows, survives and flourishes through the centuries.

Once she started working she began to think more about trees that have featured in her life, and when she started talking to people she realised that they, too, could pick out certain trees from their histories. Then she heard a talk by Canadian forester, Susanne Simard, who has shown that trees have a vast communication network through their roots that covers distances that stretch for many kilometres.

So it occurred to her that it would be interesting to mirror the trees’ communications and start people talking to one another about their trees stories, and sharing their creative interpretations of trees. So that we could generate greater respect for these magnificent plants through making people more aware of their own personal connections to trees.

The contributions quickly started to pour in. And the more interesting, touching or creative ones will become part of the exhibition, as will work by Mary-Lynne’s students and local children.

In the meantime, when all the talk has been about climate change, we need more trees. The scientists are telling us that planting enough more trees could absorb enough CO2 from the atmosphere to give us another decade of breathing space.

So this exhibition is more than just an exhibition. It is a message from the old olive tree to each and every one of us to stop cutting down the trees, and to start planting more trees.

About the Artist

Mary-Lynne Stadler is a fine art painter and printmaker living on the island, and working from her studio at Elysian, in Es Canar.

She fulfilled a life-long ambition to study art as a mature student, when she took an Honours degree in Art and Creative Writing at Bath Spa University College, Bath, England in 2001. She was subsequently awarded a Fellowship in Stone Lithography at the same establishment, and, two years later, joined the Cyprus College of Art on a year-long Postgraduate Diploma in Art.

Cyprus has a way of working its seductive magic on a person, and for the next decade she found herself still living and working there. During that time she was an active member of the art community on the island, participating in many exhibitions and events, including the first Open Studios event there in 2006, and running art workshops for both adults and children at her studio. For a time, she also taught both printmaking and History of Art to the students at the Cyprus College of Art.

She has exhibited widely in the UK and in Cyprus, as well as here on Ibiza, and her work can be found in collections all over the world, from Hawaii to Hong Kong.

The future has been deleted. After crashing into Ushuaïa Ibiza in memorable style last year, DYSTOPIA returns for a series of four unmissable events centered around art and self-expression.
Reality is an illusion as visual curiosities sweep through the open-air venue once again as music, live art and performances radically immerse revellers into a hub of creativity. The world of DYSTOPIA is limitless.
Who is in control? An interactive experience. As perspectives are transformed and the world is turned upside down, the party made Ushuaïa look like never before with a festival-meets-club feel full of bold art, wild performers and a hedonistic vibe.
The audience is invited to explore their creativity and partake in this sensorial world, bringing out their eccentricities in any way they wish.

Are you real? This year will see DYSTOPIA hold court on four dates: June 28, July 5, September 1 and September 8.
Full line-ups are yet to be revealed but artists confirmed across the parties far include the high-impact, tension-heavy sounds of Butch, king of US house Kerri Chandler, the dream team trio of Apollonia, Israeli trip masters Red Axes, French disco & house digger Jeremy Underground, melodic techno expert Patrice Baümel, Germany’s acclaimed Adam Port and house legend Lil Louis.
Ushuaïa resident Raul Rodriguez also features, along with France’s fast-rising Lazare Hoche, self-styled ‘techno princess’ Sita Abellán and South Africa’s master Themba (who is resident at Black Coffee’s night at Hï Ibiza this summer).

Including Zoo Project’s famous body art stand, where you can leave your party look in the hands of the professionals, and then take a wild picture at the photocall.

Noah’s Ark Boat Party: Enjoy the sun, the sea, the sand. While listening to wild beats brought to you by the party’s beloved residents and special guests, while you warm up for the Zoo! You’ll be setting sail towards the mystical Es Vedrà and Atlantis, two of the most magnetic and magical spots on earth. The performance artists will have punters entertained on board, while free drinks and free finger food will keep partygoers fresh and happy. After the boat, the disco bus will be headed straight to The Zoo Project at Benimussa Park, only 10 minutes away from San Antonio.

While much of planet earth’s population is diving in to help create a healthier planet, the forward-thinking team behind The Zoo Project weighs in on global efforts by offering affordable ticket pricing with contributions back to mother earth by planting one tree per each ticket sold from the 16th June until the end of the season. This unprecedented and outstanding commitment to OneTreePlanted.org is one of the latest actions of its sister company The Nature Project, a proactive art community that promotes and organizes beach clean-ups, marine, beehive programs and more in its pursuit of saving the world one planet at a time.

The Zoo Project’s free shuttle bus service
from Benimussa Park to the bus station in San Antonio is already running, starting at 23h and running continuously until the end of the night. Party wild and come back home safely for free.

The Zoo Project Ibiza comes back, calling a heard of fans of all cultures and species from all corners of the world.

Change is here !!

Off the back of a storming 2018 Ibiza season and a slew of sold out shows across the globe, we’re happy to announce our return to Privilege’s Vista Club every Sunday from 23rd June to 22nd September

2018 SawUK crew SolidGrooves return to this infamous space every Sunday throughout the summer of 2018.

Those that have experienced a SolidGrooves Ibiza party will surely remember the International headliners, carefully selected residents, raw beats with groovy basslines and one of the most up for it crowds on the island. From the first to the last beat, the dance floor is a thriving mass of bodies, filled with energy and adding their own whoops and cheers to the sound track. All this means it’s no wonder that after two much talked about seasons, SolidGrooves made a welcome return to Vista Club each and every Sunday.

2018 Was the third season of SolidGrooves in Ibiza, and in that time the party has truly made an indelible mark. Serious bookings, an underground atmosphere and focus on the music rather than VIP high life has made it a firm favourite with proper music lovers who like to get busy on the dance floor to the freshest sounds.

Since last summer, SolidGrooves—which was raising the bar for six years—has been selling out shows across the UK and will continue that success in Ibiza with their famous Sunday night slot. This season you can expect more big hitting names and key brand collaborations that will bring plenty of world class talents to the Vista Club. It’s a space with a meaty sound system, huge windows with views over the island and a mid-sized feel that means each party is intimate and personal

FINALLY! Laserface is coming to Europe.

We looked at a lot of cities, countries and venues for one that would do this show justice, but this one just felt right.
The Terrace at Amnesia is legendary.
It’s one of the greatest dance music rooms I have ever seen.

I’ve never played it but when playing in the other room, I would frequently wanted over to watch Calvin Harris play to a packed out Terrence and think “One day…”. It’s been on my bucket list for ten years.

Now, whilst very few of you live in Ibiza, there are cheap flights from all over Europe, loads of reasonable hotels, and you have six months to plan! So make a trip of it, come in for a few days or longer. It’ll be way more fun.

We’ve got an amazing line up of Sander Van Doorn, STANDERWICK, Sam Mitcham, Nick The Kid plus we’re doing this even in association with Ibiza Trance Event. They run ‘trance week’ on the island that week, so in the days leading up to our show there will be a shit load of amazing trance events including an outdoor festival during the day of our show.

After an enormous 2017 and 2018, Pacha Ibiza welcomes the undisputed king of Sundays once again for another sublime summer season, his 7th, prolonging the unstoppable success of the Solomun +1 concept, a party to end the week in style at the cherry club.

This summer, Diynamic label boss Solomun returns to Pacha for his best ever season of the now globally recognized Solomun +1. The iconic party runs from May 26th until October 13th and takes in plenty of returning favourites as well as brand new names such as Peggy Gou, Fango, Denis Sulta, Tijuana T, DJ Seinfeld, Maceo Plex, Mano Le Tough, Tale Of Us, Dixon, Luciano, Chloé, Âme, DJ Koze, Moscoman, DJ Tennis, KEINEMUSIK and plenty more.

The last 12 months have found Solomun once again tour the world and play at a number of his own Diynamic showcases and festivals. This year he will take this legendary party to Exit Festival for the first time after showcases in Beirut, New York, Berlin, LA and Tulum, Mexico have established it around the globe. Of course he also starred in the latest Grand Theft Auto game, which cemented his reputation as one of the most recognizable faces of house music, and Solomun+1 is now officially the longest running residency at Pacha after the famous Flower Power night.

All of this makes Solomun+1 a must attend party for anyone heading to the White Isle. It is an immersive experience with a no expense spared approach to production that results in plenty of stunning creative decor and immersive light and visuals, all expertly curated by Solomun himself.
Each event finds world class house and techno guests do their thing before the Diynamic boss lays out his singular musical visions in his most natural environment. Always serving up plenty of classy melody and uplifting grooves, future classics and the occasional tasteful anthem, Solomun is truly at home at +1 so you can always expect the very best of him.
What’s more, as usual, the final set of the night finds him go back-to-back with his choice guest under the celebrated Pacha cherries and extra special magic always happens.

With this announcement, Solomun+1 once again sets the standard for house and techno parties on the White Isle and offers its most impressive and complete season yet.

Solomun+1 is a great opportunity to see the influential house and tech artist play in his natural environment with his closest musical friends. Solomun will serve as host to a bright and exclusive guest each week with the epic and individual set format followed by an exquisite back-to-back set.

Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel presents: “O” a collective exhibition on eroticism by the hand of Adda Gallery returns to Ibiza for its fourth edition.

Ten artists from different countries and artistic fields — illustration, urban art, photography, pop surrealism — the show offers these artists ’vision on one of the recurring themes in art and life: Eroticism.

Sometimes rejected, relegated to the confines of what is respectable and what is not, eroticism has never ceased to captivate and inspire artists. Drawings, prints and photos make a homage to seduction, to the body, to the carnal pleasures, to the senses. Offering a realistic, romantic, sensual, even febrile or humorous view of the matter.

ART EXHIBITION: TALKING TREES by Mary-Lynne Stadler @ AUBERGINE IBIZA Restaurant
Sep 9 @ 12:00 pm

aubergine-sep1

From Swiss Alps to Ski Gondolas to Hot Air Balloons to Cruise ships, #MDRNTY knows how to throw unique party with top artists of Electronic Music industry!
This time we’re back in collaboration with Ibiza party titans Pyramid Ibiza!

After a huge first year in 2018, Pyramid is back with even more surprises. Last year the brand promised to bring back the old Ibiza vibes and deliver a party that had a big emphasis on production, performance and decoration, alongside mouth-watering line ups, and it certainly did that.

Over 17 weeks Pyramid was the place to be on a Monday night in Ibiza, bringing some of the biggest names in house and techno to the club room and terrace. Ricardo Villalobos made 6 appearances on the terrace, including his All Night Long set in Ibiza plus a very special B2B set with Luciano. Other DJs that played were Maceo Plex who headlined 5 dates, Nina Kraviz, Helena Hauff, Raresh, Ben Klock and Charlotte de Witte.

In addition, we witnessed stellar live performances from Stephan Bodzin, KiNK and more. B2B sets from the likes of Cuartero and Guti Live, Eats Everything and Luigi Madonna amongst others.

In 2019 the brand continues to grow, throwing its first parties outside of the island and preparing what will be yet another huge season, with unbeatable line ups and mind blowing decoration and production.

From Monday 3rd June to 23rd September, every other week at Amnesia Ibiza.

Since elrow’s beginning at Amnesia Ibiza in 2017, the club has seen, more than 1700 actors, 300 stilt walkers and 200 aerial performers that have united to create the vibrant worlds that make up elrow’s now legendary themes, with 1.7 tons of confetti dropped throughout the series. With more than 12,000 inflatables let loose across the season and an additional 1300 different costumes worn by performers, it cemented the party’s reputation as Ibiza’s most unmissable residency.

Described as a “worldwide sensation (Forbes) powered by a nightlife dynasty (Resident Advisor) rapidly becoming The Medicis of raving (The Guardian). To put it simply: Fun cannot be created, marketed, or bought, and the family-run business of elrow house parties encapsulates such vibes with effortless finesse (Complex)”, elrow events take place in over 50 cities on all seven continents, including residencies in Dubai, Madrid, China, Barcelona and 19 unforgettable events every Saturday at Amnesia Ibiza throughout the summer season.

elrow is the world’s leading event production company with six generations of experience promoting unforgettable spectacles. Performers interact with guests, who become actors in the story, integrated into a psychedelic circus-like environment and vibrant atmosphere unlike any other. Hailed as “one of the most successful and outlandish party brands around the world” by Billboard and boasting over 250 events to its credit, elrow is a global phenomenon that can run five events simultaneously and is used to selling out as many as 15,000 tickets in under four hours even before lineups are announced. elrow events take place in over 80 cities on six continents, including residencies in Ibiza, Dubai, Capetown, New York and Barcelona, and stages at major festivals including Glastonbury and Tomorrowland. In 2018 alone, elrow hosted over 40 sold out events around the globe.

Their recipe for success is conveniently summarized as ‘25% music, 25% the performers, 25% the decoration and 25% the crowd’. Fans follow elrow loyally around the planet, confident they’re part of a magical experience, determined to seize a place in the realm of memorable parties that channel royalty’s most outrageous extravaganzas

ART EXHIBITION: TALKING TREES by Mary-Lynne Stadler @ AUBERGINE IBIZA Restaurant
Sep 15 @ 12:00 pm

aubergine-sep1

After a solid start to the season, The Zoo Project announced that season 2019 comes loaded with more incredible music across five stages, revered international headliners and renowned Zoo Project residents, mischiefs to enjoy the party to the fullest, and planet-saving projects to get involved in.

Kicking off at this unique location every Sunday from 16.30h, the first of June’s weekly editions brings in the likes of Enzo Siragusa, Shaun Reeves, Savage & She, Javier Gonzales, Clara Da Costa, Real Gang Soundsystem and Alex Arnout. And then, slamming in mid-month on 16th June is a very special date for the Zoo Project crew as it celebrates its 12th anniversary, along with the official openings of the Seal Pit, The BUMP Rollerdisco, The Reggae Urban Arena, The Mandala Market, and The Zoo Project’s Boat Party, Noah’s Ark.

The Seal Pit: Celebrate life and the opening of the iconic Seal Pit stage on 16th June. To mark the occasion German duo Andhim make their debut alongside The Zoo Project´s longest serving resident Defex. Throughout the summer the famous amphitheater will play host to techno luminaries Ida Engberg, Monkia Kruse, Traumer, Dana Ruh and Mathias Kaden. Ghetto house godfather DJ Deeon makes a very welcome return and London heroes East End Dubs, together with Denney, Hosh and Bushwacka, will all take centre stage. All this and more, along with a killer selection of Zoo Project residents, the Seal Pit is back.

The BUMP Rollerdisco: If you’re looking for next-level fun, the BUMP Rollerdisco is the answer. Combining the passion for music and rollerskating, expect a mixture of ringleading DJs – such as Homies, Graham Sahara, and more – supplying the perfect soundtrack as you roll around in style. You’ll get the unlimited BUMP Rollerdisco skating band, which includes skate hire, and knee pad protection for €10.

Reggae Urban Arena: The Reggae Urban Arena showcases the finest tunes, from reggae to trap, hip hop, funk, with soon-to-be-announced special guests. Eli Rojas, Jiménez, and the Macba G13 crew will be bringing Barcelona street culture to Ibiza.

The Mandala Market:
Get the coolest crystals and feathered jewellery, tribal accessories mixed with professional clubbing fashion clothes, amazing sun glasses, and other great ‘ZOOvenirs’ while you enjoy live drumming jam sessions, and more.

See you all on the dancefloor!

Enjoy one of Ibiza’s biggest and longest running underground events with live music, interactive performances and immersive stages in over 5 arenas. With a unique setting in an abandoned zoo venue, under the sun and surrounded by pine-tree hills in the middle of nature, we will keep the good vibes flowing each and every Sunday, as the Zoo crew invites friends and family to come and celebrate life and music like nowhere else.

Papa Sven heads for the Terrace booth and goes in for the kill with one of his legendary all-night-long marathons. When you factor in that this is his only solo takeover of the season, make sure you don’t miss out on the trip.

Over in the club, it’s packed with talent from venerated veterans Carl Craig and Cassy, to Ukranian techno powerhouse Nastia, and seasoned island resident Cesar Vinzent.

Sven Väth presents many parties celebrating the 20th Anniversary season of Cocoon Ibiza at Amnesia.

Ibiza, Cocoon, Amnesia. A combination that has raised the bar as well as the roof from the very beginning. Influencing and inspiring and laying the platform for so much that has followed in Ibiza and beyond.

Welcome to COCOON20.

To kick off the celebrations of COCOON’s 20th anniversary, Väth has invited a handful of special guests including long-time friends, Underworld.

Sven was playing Underworld’s legendary Born Slippy at his residency at Frankfurt’s hallowed Omen Club long before it became the global smash hit it’s known as being. He invited them to play a memorable set at COCOON’s 10th anniversary in 2009, and now he’s giving a chance for a new generation to witness one of the greatest electronic acts of all time. They continue to inspire and innovate and sound like no other act on the planet, with 2019 also seeing the 20-year anniversary of their mesmerizing, best-selling album, Beaucoup Fish.

The UK duo, alongside Sven himself – who of course will also play on the night, will be joined on the bill by a selection of COCOON IBIZA’s long-running, well-loved residents: Ilario Alicante, Dana Ruh and André Galluzzi. Each of them has made immeasurable contributions to the sound of the party, shaping its musical DNA over the years. Meanwhile, Matthias Tanzmann will play his debut COCOON IBIZA event.

When COCOON arrived on Ibiza in 1999, the sound of the island was incredibly different. It took several years of Väth and his team’s dedication to underground house and techno before people started to understand and appreciate these uncompromising styles. Along the way, the party helped make superstars and grew to become the most popular night on the island.

All the while, ‘Papa Sven’ has resided over the proceedings, breaking countless records, playing hundreds of breathtaking sets (including many legendary afterparties) and sticking firm to his musical beliefs while trends came and went. He and his huge COCOON family who have enabled him to realize his vision have truly transformed the musical landscape of Ibiza forever.
