Sant Rafel is situated 8 km from the town of Sant Antoni in the direction of Ibiza.
It is a small town with a beautiful 18th century church, from where you can see the city of Ibiza and its port.
This town is the only place on the island declared an area of artisan interest, due to the remarkable ceramist activity from various workshops and the production of pieces of great artistic value. Some are of Punic and traditional inspiration, while others reflect the most current trends in art.
The town of San Rafel celebrates its patron saint, Sant Rafel, with the Festes Patronals de Sant Rafel, through a month of live activities for all ages, including music, crafts markets, parties, sports competitions and lots of food and drink.
Dia de (the day of) Sant Rafel is, October 24th, will start with a solemn mass at the town’s church followed by traditional dancing, a popular free meal with bunyols and wine and a concert in the evening. Later in the week the famous Folk Festival will take place, which showcases local customs, music and clothing.
